What is the predictive heating function (Auto-Adapt)? Auto-Adapt is an intelligent thermostat function that can turn on the heating in advance to reach the set target temperature at the exact time indicated in the home heating program. Auto-Adapt can be activated or deactivated if you go to "Settings" and select "Heat Comfort", then "Anticipation". The Auto-Adapt function automatically calibrates every two weeks, if active. If it does not work properly, you do not need to do anything, it will automatically return to its correct settings. What causes Auto-Adapt to malfunction? Auto-Adapt adapts to the specific characteristics of your home (thermal inertia, insulation, etc.). If one of these characteristics changes, it can cause Auto-Adapt to malfunction. How can I avoid Auto-Adapt malfunction? • Avoid changing the water temperature in the heating system. • Avoid using other heating appliances. Auto-Adapt is set to 30 minutes and is based on the outside temperature. In fact, the colder it is, the longer it will take to heat your home. And vice versa. If an outside temperature reading is not available for several hours, Auto-Adapt will automatically set to 30 minutes. This can happen in the following cases: • Loss of wireless connection between the valves and the thermostat. • Wi-Fi router disconnected from the Internet or no Wi-Fi connection between the thermostat and the Wi-Fi router. Auto-Adapt is set to three hours. In most cases, Auto-Adapt has a maximum duration of three hours. In some cases, however, three hours may not be enough time to reach the required set-point, which can be a problem with systems with high inertia (such as underfloor heating) or during the cold winter months. To use a maximum pre-heating time of eight hours, the setpoint temperature must not be higher than 14°C for the time the thermostat is using the auto-adapt function. If your system has Netatmo Smart Valves and the anticipation option is activated, then the whole house will be applied: all rooms will therefore be able to heat predictively. Since predictive heating occurs room by room, it is possible that one room will be able to predict beyond 30 minutes (optimized prediction), while another continues to predict at 30 minutes (default prediction). After several weeks of heating, without any action on your part, the duration of the prediction will be automatically optimized for all rooms. If your heating system has an external sensor to automatically control the water temperature in the heating system based on the time,Auto-Adapt may not produce the correct results. It is recommended that you turn off Auto-Adapt and adjust your weekly schedule accordingly.
