How can we help?

What are the prerequisites for a photovoltaic production monitoring system in Home + Control ?

To get your solar panels working smoothly with Home + Control, you need to meet a few basic requirements. This article will help you understand what you need to set up your system correctly and make sure everything runs well with the app.

Please read the article thoroughly so you don't miss any information, but here is a general summary of what you need to know and to have:

Solar panels installation requirements

✔️ Single-phase system

Your electrical house installation must be a single-phase system.

✔️ Auto-consumption installation

Your solar panel system must be a self-consumption type. Full resale installations are not supported by the monitoring system.

❌ Full resale installation

Photovoltaic systems configured as "full resale" are not supported by the monitoring system.

❌ Battery

Battery support is not available.

⚠️ Plug-and-play panels

Plug-and-play panels are supported only if the outlet they are connected to is on a dedicated line (or if there are other outlets, no other devices are plugged into them).

Products requirements

Install essential devices

To fully utilize the photovoltaic production monitoring features, you must have at least all these modules:

  1. Home consumption tracking: Install a module to monitor the total energy consumption of your home. This can be either an Energy Meter set to "Home consumption" or a Smart Shedder.
  2. Photovoltaic production tracking: Use another Energy Meter configured for "Photovoltaic production" to track the energy produced by your solar panels.

  3. Gateway : In order for your products to communicate with each other and be able to send data to the application, you need a gateway, which acts as a bridge between the products and the Home + Control application.

Without these modules, you won't be able to track key metrics such as your energy independence ratio or compare your energy production with your consumption. This means you’ll miss out on valuable insights and functionalities of the system, reducing the overall benefit of your photovoltaic setup.

Proper CT sensor placement

For accurate measurements, it’s crucial install and place the CT sensors of your measuring devices correctly:

CT sensor for home energy consumption:

  • Place this CT sensor on the line connecting your electrical panel to the main utility meter.
  • Ensure the arrow on the CT sensor is facing towards the electrical panel. This will allow the sensor to measure the total energy consumption of your home accurately.

   CT sensor for photovoltaic production:

  • Place the CT sensor on the output phase wire of the inverter.
  • Ensure the arrow on the CT sensor is pointing inward, towards the home's electrical loads, not towards the inverter. This positioning allows the sensor to measure the energy produced by your solar panels accurately.

Configure your system properly

Home + Control app setup

  1. Install or update the app: Download Home + Control if you haven't already, or update it to the latest version.

  2. Add devices: Integrate the Energy Meter for photovoltaic production and the Energy Meter or Smart Shedder for home consumption into the app. For detailed setup instructions, refer to this article: How do I configure my modules to monitor my photovoltaic production?

  3. After installation: Your data may not be displayed immediately after installation and configuration; it takes time to measure all consumption correctly before it appears in Home + Control. This can take up to 24 hours after the module has been installed.

By following these guidelines, you'll set up a comprehensive and effective photovoltaic monitoring system, allowing you to track your solar energy production and consumption efficiently.
