How can we help?

My Classe 300 EOS does not connect to the internet. What should I do?

Problems with wireless can be caused by physical interference or the configuration of the Wi-Fi access point. In this article, we will first try to reduce all physical interference, then we will suggest some simple steps to troubleshoot the Wi-Fi access point.

Step 1: Reduce Interference

First, ensure that the distance between your router and the Classe 300 EOS is around 3 meters (ideal distance). Walls and certain surfaces can absorb wireless signals and cause connectivity issues.

Optimal placement:

Make sure the Classe 300 EOS and the router are not placed:

  • Behind a TV
  • Near an aquarium
  • In or under a metal object
  • Inside a closed cabinet
  • Close to a large number of cables and wires
  • Near other wireless devices

Turn off other devices temporarily

Next, if you have any of these devices nearby, turn them off temporarily to see if it solves the problem:

  • Laptops, tablets, etc.
  • Wireless printers, speakers, and other wireless devices
  • IP cameras
  • Microwave (when in use)
  • Cordless phones

Install a Wi-Fi repeater:

If you still have connectivity issues, you may need to install a Wi-Fi repeater in the room where the Classe 300 EOS is located. This will help strengthen the signal.

Step 2: Basic Access Point Configuration

Restart the Router:

If reducing interference doesn't solve the issue, let's restart your Wi-Fi router. This simple step can refresh the connection and solve many issues.

⚠️ If you have multiple Wi-Fi access points (repeaters, boosters, extenders) in your network, make sure each one has a unique name (SSID).

Also, ensure the Classe 300 EOS is set to connect to the access point with the strongest signal. To check this, go to the device settings menu (gear icon) > Network.

Step 3: Advanced Access Point Configuration

If the basic steps haven't resolved your issue, let's delve into some advanced settings. You'll need to access your router's configuration page. If you're unsure how to do this, refer to your router's user manual follow these steps:

  1. Try to update the router to the latest firmware version.
  2. Consider setting a simpler Wi-Fi password without special characters. This can sometimes help with connection issues.
  3. Make sure that no MAC filter is enabled on the router (or verify that the Classe 300 EOS is on the white-list).
  4. Make sure that the access restriction (parental control, etc.) is disabled.
  5. Check if the router has a sleep function. If so, disable the function
  6. Disable restriction of Wi-Fi channels (enable automatic selection) or select channels 1, 6 or 11.
  7. If your router is 5GHz compatible, check that 2.4Ghz is also enabled (Legrand Netatmo Bticino products can only connect to 2.4GHz networks).
  8. Try disabling 5GHz.
  9. Check if UPnP is enabled. It is recommended to use it.
  10. Try replacing your current DNS servers with Google's DNS servers:
    • Primary: 8.8.8.8
    • Secondary: 8.8.4.4
