The smart thermostat can only be set up with a personal Wi-Fi network. It cannot access the Internet through a public Wi-Fi network (hot-spot) or through a corporate Wi-Fi network that filters ports. It is compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards if the network security settings are set to WEP, WPA, or WPA2 Personal.
